GDPR Art. 17 — Right to Erasure

Request Data Deletion

You have the right to request erasure of your personal data. Here is how the process works, what gets deleted, and what we are required to keep.

How it works

Deletion request process

01

Contact your association

If you are a member, owner, or tenant of a body corporate using Kasri, your data is managed by your association's administrators. Start by contacting your chairman, secretary, or treasurer and requesting data deletion.

02

Or submit a direct request

If you prefer to contact us directly, email [email protected] from the email address associated with your Kasri account. Include your full name, association name, and the specific data you wish to have deleted. We will verify your identity and coordinate with your association where necessary.

03

Identity verification

To protect your data and prevent unauthorised requests, we will verify your identity before processing. This may include email confirmation, knowledge-based verification, or contacting your association administrators for confirmation of your membership.

04

Processing & confirmation

We process valid data subject requests within 30 days (GDPR Art. 17 — Right to Erasure). Depending on the scope of your request, data may be permanently deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Financial transaction records may be retained for up to 10 years where required by Tanzanian financial regulations. We will confirm completion in writing.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about data deletion

What data gets deleted?

Personal data directly associated with your account, including your name, email, phone number, profile information, and personal communication records. Content you created (documents, messages) may be retained by your association if needed for operational purposes.

What data is retained?

Anonymised audit log entries (your identity is replaced with a non-reversible token), financial transaction records required by Tanzanian law, and aggregated analytics that cannot identify you. Your association's records (minutes, resolutions, levy schedules) remain intact.

How long does it take?

We complete all data subject requests within 30 days as standard. Complex requests involving large volumes of data may take up to 60 days, and we will notify you if an extension is needed.

Can my association refuse my request?

In limited circumstances — for example, if your data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation or the establishment of legal claims — your association may be unable to fulfil an erasure request. We will advise you of any such limitations in writing.

What if I want to delete my association's entire data?

Data erasure for an entire association requires termination of the subscription agreement. Contact your association's authorised signatories to initiate this process. Upon termination, association data is handled per our Data Processing Agreement.
